AA Euro Group is actively recruiting for a HVAC Lead to join a client of ours delivering a state of the art pharmaceutical facility just outside of Oxford.



About the Role

Reporting to the Mep Manager, the HVAC Lead is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. This role combines technical expertise with leadership skills to ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards.



Responsibilities

  • Supervise and perform the installation of HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, and related components.
  • Diagnose and repair HVAC system issues to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct routine maintenance to prevent system malfunctions.
  • Inspect work performed by team members to ensure adherence to specifications and safety standards.
  • Test and verify system functionality using specialized tools and equipment.
  • Recommend and implement system improvements and energy-efficient upgrades.
  • Integrate modern controls and automation systems when applicable.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked.
  • Order necessary equipment and supplies for projects.
  • Prepare reports on project progress, system performance, and team productivity.
  • Chairing meetings with sub-contractors.
  • Health and safety.
  • Quality checks QA QC familiar with ITP & ITR’s (Inspection test plans & Inspection test records).
  • Progress Schedule updates. Report to the planner.
  • Tech sub reviews for sign off against specifications.
  • RAMS reviews High risk lifts (Crane) and installations at height.
  • Delivery of capital plant.
  • Understanding typical codes such as DW143, 144.
  • L2 pressure testing of AHU’s.
  • TR19 duct cleaning.


Qualifications

  • Diploma or equivalent; a technical degree in HVAC or related field is preferred.
  • Certified HVAC Technician (EPA 608 Certification required; NATE certification preferred).


Required Skills

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in HVAC installation, repair, and maintenance.
  • 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls, and energy-efficient technologies.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in HVAC software and tools (e.g., HVAC load calculation tools, CMMS).
  • Able to work in isolation and as a team.
  • Able to give clear instruction to others within the team.
  • Comfortable with working away if required.
