Role Overview

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of mechanical systems for mission critical projects. Reporting to the Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing detailed mechanical designs for HVAC, chilled water, and specialist systems.
  • Supporting project delivery from concept through to construction and commissioning.
  • Collaborating with internal teams, clients, and external consultants to ensure design integrity.
  • Conducting technical reviews, calculations, and system simulations.
  • Assisting in mentoring junior engineers and contributing to continuous improvement.

You will be involved in high-value, technically complex projects where precision and reliability are paramount.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant subject.
  • Proven experience in mechanical design engineering within mission critical sectors.
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, chilled water systems, and cleanroom design.
  • Excellent proficiency in industry standard design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, IESVE, Hevacomp, etc.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards it (CEng, IMechE or equivalent) is desirable.
