Mechanical Engineer - Technology Somerset
We are currently Partnering with a High-Growth, Market Leader in the Modular Cleanroom Design for the Biopharmaceutical sector. Demonstrating success across the UK and EMEA, they are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join them on a recently acquired technology construction project in Somerset .
Responsibilities
Coordination of High-Spec Mechanical Systems:
Support the delivery of complex mechanical systems, including HVAC, process pipework, chilled water, and specialist utilities, ensuring compliance with performance specifications and design intent.
Technical Interface & Design Management:
Review and coordinate mechanical design drawings and models. Manage RFIs, support clash resolution, and liaise with consultants, BIM teams, and site supervisors to deliver coordinated, buildable solutions.
Material Take-Offs & Procurement Support:
Produce detailed take-offs for plant and mechanical systems. Assist with procurement processes and track long-lead item deliveries to ensure alignment with programme and installation schedules.
QA/QC & System Testing Preparation:
Support the preparation of inspection and test plans (ITPs), QA documentation, and test packs. Monitor installation quality and prepare systems for pressure testing, flushing, and commissioning.
Progress Tracking & Reporting:
Assist the Mechanical Project Manager with look-ahead planning, weekly progress updates, and interface coordination across trades to keep mechanical works aligned with overall programme milestones.
Requirements
Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate a stable track record with a Main or Subcontractor background
Must have excellent communication skills (Verbal & Written)
Must have relevant degree level qualification or equivalent trades background
Must have 5+ years experience in a similar position on industrial construction projects

Circa £70,000 + Package
