We are seeking a proactive and experienced Transport & Logistics Team Leader to join our team in Bath. Reporting directly to the Logistics Manager, this pivotal role is responsible for leading and managing the factory’s external logistics operations, ensuring that customer deliveries and sales revenue are processed accurately and on schedule—every time. As a key contributor to the success of our shipping department, the successful candidate will oversee all outbound and inbound shipments, playing a critical role in achieving our delivery and revenue targets. This position involves regular collaboration with senior leadership and requires a strong focus on efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement.

As Transport & Logistics Team Leader you will be responsible for supervising the shipping team, ensuring all activities are conducted legally, efficiently, and cost-effectively. Key responsibilities include maintaining health and safety standards, managing team performance, leading daily operations through Tier F boards, and resolving critical issues using structured problem-solving tools. The role also involves ensuring compliance with trade and customs regulations, maintaining accurate data in our business system (D365), and coordinating closely with internal departments, customers, and agents to optimize the shipping process. Additionally, the successful candidate will support training initiatives, uphold our Business Management System (BMS), and contribute to the continuous improvement of departmental procedures and KPIs.

Qualifications
Essential:

Solid experience in a shipping environment

Knowledge of international business practices

Experience leading a team

An understanding of Incoterms and their implications

An understanding of export controls of hazardous goods

I.T skills – Microsoft Office

Good communication skills
