Job Title: Logistics and Distribution Manager

Location: Basel, Switzerland

Duration: 6 months

Salary: CHF 82 Gross per hour
 
CK QLS are recruiting for a Logistics and Distribution Manager, to join a growing global pharmaceutical company, on a contract basis in Basel. This role is ideal for an experienced supply chain professional, with strong expertise in warehousing, inventory, and transportation within the pharmaceutical sector, including setting up logistic solutions using SAP.

Logistics and Distribution Manager will require you to:

Lead and execute warehousing, logistics, and transportation activities for clinical and commercial pharmaceutical materials.
Act as the key SAP S4/HANA system superuser and support the transition to a new VI Innovation tool.
Ensure seamless inventory reconciliation with external CMOs and 3PLs.
Manage transport conditions, including cold chain and temperature excursions, and oversee customs clearance documentation and tax settings.
Maintain data accuracy in ERP systems and support master data management.
Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and external logistics providers regarding distribution operations.
Support SOP and working instruction development, updates, and system training for new team members.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Trial Project Leads, QA, IT, Finance, and Legal teams to align logistics processes. 
Further Responsibilities will Include:

Executing distribution activities in compliance with GDP, GMP, global supply chain guidelines, and service level agreements.
Coordinating day-to-day logistics for GMP and non-GMP shipments, including API, intermediates, excipients, and bulk materials.
Managing exceptions, deviations, and documentation related to shipment integrity and customs.
Leading the routine inventory reconciliation process and ensuring alignment between physical and system stock.
Acting as a liaison for all inventory management-related matters, including issue resolution and KPI monitoring.
Driving continuous process improvement in transportation and warehousing operations.
Overseeing order data creation and integrity in collaboration with master data stewards.
Ensuring timely release of goods in collaboration with the Quality Management team.
Coordinating logistics for inbound and outbound shipments involving CMOs, chemicals, and finished products. 
Your Background:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; ADR/IATA certifications are advantageous.
Fluent in English; German or French is a plus.
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in logistics and distribution within the pharmaceutical industry.
Solid experience with SAP (R/3 or S4HANA and Fiori) – particularly inventory management and stock movements.
Proven track record in managing third-party logistics operations, warehousing, and service-level agreements.
Strong understanding of compliance in pharmaceutical logistics, including GDP, GMP, customs, and taxes.
Knowledgeable on Inco terms, hazard class II products.
Experience in cross-functional collaboration with Quality, Finance, IT, and Supply Chain teams.
