Aqua-Tech Recruitment are delighted to be working on behalf of one of our clients, a fast-growing, innovation-led provider of high-performance technologies for pharmaceutical, biotech, and healthcare sectors. With offices in Edinburgh and Singapore, they specialise in delivering GMP-compliant equipment and validation services that support critical cleanroom operations and sterilisation processes across the globe.

The Roles:

We are looking to hire two experienced Validation & Service Engineers to join their growing technical team:

  • One engineer will be field-based in Scotland, covering the Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Grampians areas. This role will focus on planned/reactive maintenance, breakdown response, and installations of medical machinery.

  • The other will be based out of our Edinburgh office and will take the lead on commissioning, validation (IQ/OQ/FAT/SAT), and occasional international travel to support projects abroad.

    Both engineers will work across GMP-regulated environments, supporting washer disinfectors, sterilizers, and related equipment for both NHS and life sciences clients.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Factory & Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT) on sterilizers, washers, and other GMP equipment.

  • Execute and document Installation & Operational Qualifications (IQ/OQ) in line with MHRA, EMA, and FDA expectations.

  • Undertake planned maintenance, reactive service calls, and breakdown diagnostics on washers and sterilizers.

  • Conduct installations of new medical machinery at client sites.

  • Deliver validation activities in accordance with HTM2010 and other relevant standards.

  • Liaise with clients to prepare validation protocols, and maintain digital service and GMP documentation.

  • Support and mentor junior engineers; contribute to process improvement and service quality.

    Requirements:

    Essential

  • City & Guilds HTM2010 Certificate (Washers and Sterilizers)

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role within a GMP or NHS environment

  • Solid understanding of GxP, validation lifecycle documents (URS, DQ, IQ, OQ, PQ)

  • Experience with:

    • Thermal mapping

    • Bowie-Dick testing

    • Leak rate testing

    • Calibration procedures

  • Confident working independently in cleanroom/sterile service environments

    Desirable

  • Familiarity with HTM01-01, EN285, ISO 15883

  • Knowledge of ALCOA+ and risk-based validation principles

  • Comfort with PLC/SCADA systems and reading technical drawings

  • Willingness to travel
