Job ref: FLD090725 Job type: Permanent Location: Newry Closing date: Tuesday 22 Jul 2025 13:00 Job Overview The forklift driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to transport materials, goods, and components within the production facility. This role involves loading and unloading materials, performing regular equipment checks, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods. Main Duties/Responsibilities: Operating forklift safely and efficiently operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to load, unload, and move products and materials Load and unload goods from trucks, containers, and storage areas Transport materials to and from storage areas, production lines and production suites and loading docks. Loading and unloading production components from classified areas whilst following gowning procedures for relevant areas. Assist with inventory counts and ensure accurate tracking of materials and products. Perform routine checks and maintenance on forklifts, reporting any malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Wear necessary protective gear and participate in safety training. Maintain records of materials moved, including product codes, quantities, and locations. Work closely with warehouse staff, supervisors, and other departments to ensure efficient workflow and address any logistical challenges. Essential Criteria: Valid forklift licence Ability to work a 2 shift pattern (Week 1 - Mon to Fri 6am-2pm and Week 2 - 2pm-10pm) Effective communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work well within a team and support colleagues as needed. Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols. Desirable Criteria: Previous GMP experience or experience in Pharmaceutical Industry Additional Information: This role will be based in a site that produces and handles penicillin, and as such, this role would not be suitable for those that have a penicillin allergy.
