Hours : 4-day week with an average 38.5-hour working week. One night on call for inpatients only. 1 in 6 weekends

Practice : Wildbore Veterinary

Salary : Up to £50,000 per annum (Depending on experience)

We have a fantastic opportunity for a confident Vet to join our supportive, well-equipped practice that values clinical freedom and work-life balance.

Fancy a fresh start in a clinic that gets it? Come join us

Why join us?

Varied caseload, everything from routine to more complex cases, giving you the chance to continually develop and grow. You will have an equal share of consulting, surgical, and inpatient care shifts
We strongly encourage case continuity while providing support and mentorship where required. We would consider a vet of any level of experience for this role and feel we have a big enough team to ensure an appropriate level of support.
Work alongside a dedicated, friendly team with a range of experience, including postgraduate certificates, who value collaboration and mentorship.
One of our current vets is working towards a certificate in diagnostic imaging and is keen to share tips and tricks with our Clinical Director who has a certificate in medicine and another in oral and dental surgery and is always keen to help vets improve extraction techniques and dental radiography.
One of our assistants has completed the ANZCVS diploma in feline medicine.
We are an RCVS-accredited hospital and pride ourselves in doing first-opinion work well.

The team

Our purpose-built hospital has 8 consulting rooms, including 2 dedicated cat rooms with cat only waiting area. We also have a separate consulting room and waiting room for euthanasia consults to ensure clients have privacy and peace in such difficult times.

Our in-house lab includes urine sediment exam (Idexx Sedivue), dipstix analyser, biochemistry and haematology machines, and much more.

We have recently acquired a beautiful new ultrasound machine (My Lab X7) with a 21"LED screen. As well as a dental radiography (IM3 CR7 system) which we aim to get all our vets trained up on. Our patient's that are having dental extractions will all receive nerve blocks and again we will support and help all vets learn if no prior experience. Analgesia is a priority for us and we will try and include local anaesthetic techniques wherever we can.

Our CT scanner is a 16 slice GE system. We do not interpret the images ourselves but instead send all the data to Vet CT for a specialist report. We are steadily training all of our nurses to be able to operate the CT scanner. We also offer a 'scan only' referral service to local practices.

We manage all of our chemotherapy patients and order our drugs through Chemopet who deliver it all pre-drawn. This is something we are always happy to help vets with and we will often do COP and CHOP protocols for lymphoma and protocols for mast cell neoplasia.

What We’re Looking For

A confident individual who is able to conduct consultations, diagnostics, and treatment planning for a wide range of cases.
Perform routine and non-routine surgeries with confidence and care.
Clinical decision-making abilities, able to interpret diagnostics and make informed decisions whether you're managing consults or jumping into hands-on cases. Treatment planning and ongoing case management.
A team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and remains calm under pressure.
An easy-going and collaborative attitude that helps maintain a positive team culture and excellent client care relationship.

5-weeks holiday plus bank holidays and birthday leave
Relocation support
RCVS and VDS fees paid
Employer contribution pension scheme
