If so, we have the role for you! At Boyce & Houston Vets, we offer an excellent opportunity for a small animal veterinary surgeon to join our friendly team, where we pride ourselves on providing high-quality veterinary care in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities will include:

Performing surgical procedures with precision and care.

Conducting thorough examinations of animals to diagnose medical conditions.

Developing and implementing treatment plans tailored to individual patients.

Providing pre-operative and post-operative care for pets.

Lab work-up and diagnostic imaging, including dental x-ray and ultrasonography.

Collaborating with veterinary nurses and support staff for optimal patient care.

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

Flexible working for a better work-life balance

Our flexible approach to rota patterns and working hours helps you achieve a good work-life balance. We understand everyone has outside demands and priorities, and we aim to make it easy for you to find the right work pattern. This part-time role involves 30 hours per week, preferably on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with flexibility. It includes a share in 1 in 4 Saturdays, with no sole charge or out-of-hours work required.

About us

Located in Clydebank, on the outskirts of Glasgow, our well-established, friendly small animal practice moved into a refurbished facility in January 2019. Near Glasgow Airport, the city center, and Loch Lomond, with good public transport links, our practice is fully equipped with 2 operating theatres, 5 consult rooms, separate cat and dog wards, ultrasonography, digital x-ray with Signal Pet AI, in-house biochemistry and haematology. We offer a generous CPD budget, opportunities for further skill development, and RCVS fee reimbursement.

Our team includes 8 Vets, 1 Head Nurse, 3 RVNs, a Practice Manager, and 5 Receptionists. We have low staff turnover, with specialists in ECC and a qualified OV Vet. We are involved in charity fundraising and community activities, fostering a friendly and supportive environment.
