Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences (SIPBS) is a leading
research institute within the University of Strathclyde, recognised
internationally for its groundbreaking contributions in biomedical and
pharmaceutical sciences. SIPBS is renowned for its interdisciplinary research
environment, housing state-of-the-art facilities and fostering innovative
approaches that bridge academic, industry, and clinical practice.



We are leaders in research, teaching and knowledge
exchange. Strathclyde’s Allied Health submission was rated 100% world-leading
for its research environment, ranked 11th (of 91) in the UK for its overall
Research Quality and Research Power and is the highest-performing Scottish
institution (THE analysis of REF 2021 data). Our MPharm and Biomedical
Sciences undergraduate degrees are highly rated in the UK, with Pharmacology
& Pharmacy ranked 3rd in the UK (Complete University Guide 2025) and Top
15 in the UK for Biomedical Sciences (Complete University Guide 2025). The Institute seeks to
appoint a grade 5 technician with up to 5 years relevant experience of working
in Microbiology laboratories and who can provide technical support to our
teaching and research. Candidates will have a Science based education to HNC,
Modern Apprenticeship or equivalent level.
