Role Overview


Our Stock Control Technicians are responsible forthe efficient day-to-day operations of the warehouse,ensuring the accurate receipt, storage, and handling of materials, includingtemperature-controlled materials. The Stock Control Technician is responsible forreceiving deliveriesaddressed to Touchlight DNA Services,goods-in and release of materials into Production, on-going stock control, andshipment of final product to clients.


The Stock Control Technician will report to the Warehouse Manager.


This position will behighly collaborative, both within the DNA Services Team and Research teams, ensuring the seamless support of production activities bymaintaining a well-organised and GMP compliant warehouse environment. In addition, the candidate will be expected tointeract with suppliers and shipping companies.


This is anexciting, fast-paced environmentsuited toself-motivated, organised, conscientious and highly accurate individuals, who can contribute to and successfully work in a multi-talented and compliance orientated team.


Responsibilities


  • Executedaily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of materials, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Maintain accurate inventory recordsusing SAP, oversee and conduct regular cycle counts and annual stock take, and coordinate with other departments to reconcile discrepancies if required
  • Monitor the qualityof incoming and outgoing materials,conduct quality inspections, andraise any quality eventswhere necessary
  • Ensure the propermaintenance and operation of warehouse equipment, such as TCUs (Fridges/Freezers) by conducting routine servicing/defrosting and coordinating repairs as needed with calibration and maintenance engineer
  • Ensurecompliance with regulatory requirements(MHRA),industry standards, andcompany policiesrelated to warehouse operations, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials. Report any issues or discrepancies to Senior Technician or Warehouse Manager promptly.


Skills and Experience


  • Minimum of GCSE leveleducation or equivalent
  • Excellentattention to detail
  • High level ofnumeracy
  • GoodIT skills, including updating stock control systems, Excel databases, printing labels, booking couriers, scanning of documentation, retrieving information from suppliers’ websites
  • Excellentcommunication and collaboration skills
  • Previousexperience in warehouse operations or inventory management, ideally in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry is preferred
  • Experienceworking toGMP/GDP standardsis preferred
  • Experienceworking withSAP or similar ERP systemis preferred.
