NHS Fife has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Specialist Pharmacy Technician to join our expanding multidisciplinary team delivering clinical pharmacy services across GP practices and care settings in Fife.

This role provides the opportunity to shape and influence the future direction of pharmacy technician-led services within primary care. As a senior member of the team, you will lead and manage a group of Pharmacy Technicians and Medicines Management Support Workers, ensuring consistent induction, training, and development across the workforce.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver core pharmacotherapy services including medicines reconciliation, managing acute prescription requests, and conducting medication reviews.

Lead on the review, development, and implementation of standard operating procedures.

Work in partnership with Senior Practice Pharmacists and GP practice teams to deliver sustainable, high-quality pharmacy services at a cluster level.

Provide leadership and line management support to Pharmacy Technicians and Medicines Management Support Workers.

Foster collaborative working relationships across multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and service delivery.

About You

We are looking for a confident and highly competent Senior Pharmacy Technician who can demonstrate significant post-registration experience, ideally in a primary care or multidisciplinary setting. This experience will have equipped you with the clinical knowledge, leadership capability, and professional maturity required to operate at Band 6 level.

You Will Also Have

Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician.

A Diploma in Pharmacy Services at SCQF Level 6/7 and SVQ in Pharmacy Services at SCQF Level 68.

Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) qualification or equivalent experience.

PDA in Assessment and Supply of Medicines at SCQF Level 7 or equivalent.

BTEC Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy Services and Therapeutics Level 4 or equivalent, or HNC in Pharmacy Services Development and Management or SCOF Level 7 Management Qualification.

A commitment to ongoing professional development, including a willingness to undertake further clinical or managerial qualifications up to SCQF Level 10.

L&D9 Work-Based Assessor Certificate or willingness to achieve this if required.

You will be expected to demonstrate initiative, strong communication and project management skills, and an ability to lead and influence change in practice. Experience of mentoring or managing others and working in a dynamic team environment is essential.
