Are you ready to take your career in Biomedical Science to the next level? We're offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Biomedical Scientist to join our committed Blood Transfusion team. You'll collaborate closely with our Blood Transfusion Laboratory Manager, Transfusion Practitioners and Consultant Pathologists to deliver a high-quality, safe and efficient Blood Transfusion Service that prioritises patient care and customer satisfaction.
As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to deepen your specialist knowledge and skills within an IBMS registered training facility dedicated to education, training and clinical excellence. Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for supervising the blood transfusion laboratories and assist in the development of staff within a progressive department where participation in developing our service is actively encouraged.
You should be HCPC registered with an appropriate MSc, IBMS HSD and/or be FIBMS (or equivalent) and well versed in the workings of a routine blood transfusion laboratory. You must have UK NHS Blood Transfusion laboratory experience. You will also need to be enthusiastic and highly motivated, computer literate and familiar with working to UKAS standards.
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the 24/7 rota for the Blood Sciences Laboratory.

Sound knowledge of Blood Transfusion practise underpinned by theoretical and practical experience Competence and problem solving in an automated environment Awareness of current professional issues Familiarity with ISO15189 systems and standards Broad understanding of Quality Control, good Quality Management and Audit knowledge (Including CAPA/DATIX Investigations) Good practical knowledge of health and safety issues including COSHH, fire regulations and risk assessments. Experience of working out-of-hours (including night, weekends and bank holiday shifts)
