We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Waverley Vets. The role ideally is full time covering 3 days at our branch surgery in Chiddingfold (Woodside Veterinary Clinic), and 2 days at the main branch in Godalming. You would be sole charge and will have the opportunity to run nurse clinics and get involved in all aspects of veterinary care at the Woodside clinic.

At the main branch in Godalming you will work as part of our fantastic team, we love to get involved with all aspects of the veterinary surgery, from dealing with patients to answering the telephone. You will have a dedicated main operating nurse day. The main nurse ops day involves placing catheters, taking blood, running the bloods, getting the theatre set up for surgery, organising the day ahead and then making sure everything is cleaned and sorted after surgery has finished.

Our rota

Typically, the working average week is 38.5 hours Monday to Wednesday 8:45am - 5:15pm at Chiddingfold and Thursday 10:30am- 6:30pm and Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm at Godalming, plus Saturday mornings 1:4, 8am - 12pm. You will receive 1 hour’s unpaid lunch break, however we can discuss a shorter lunch break to leave earlier potentially. The rota stays the same week after week, which makes it so much nicer for planning life. No OOH. We are open to flexible hours and part time applicants.

Who we are

Chiddingfold is a lovely village on the outskirts of Godalming. You will find a few essential shops near the clinic and plenty of lovely walks around Chiddingfold.

Godalming as a location is a beautiful town, we are a stone’s throw away from Godalming train station with access to London in less than an hour. Godalming town offers a variety of High Street shops and lots of options for lunch time breaks. There are some beautiful walks in and around the area and a few pubs along the way.

Our equipment

On site at Woodside Veterinary Clinic, Chiddingfold, we can run biochemistry blood tests, use of a microscope, a theatre to operate, tools for urine testing.

On site at Godalming we have up to date IDEXX laboratory machines, X-ray facilities, including dental radiography, dental machine, and ultrasound. The usual equipment like fluid warmer, multiple drip pumps and ecg and blood pressure monitoring equipment.

Woodside Veterinary Clinic and Godalming Veterinary Surgery both have a friendly, supportive culture - we consist of long-standing team members, full time and part time vets and nurses, and a dedicated receptionist team. We have a really strong bond as a team and will pull together in every aspect of the job role.

Across both clinics we have a great team made up of 4 veterinary surgeons, 3 qualified veterinary nurses, 1 student veterinary nurse and 5 receptionists (3 of which are part time).
