Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented R&D Lab Technician to join our Technical team. Reporting to the Technical Manager, this role is integral to supporting the team with testing, results recording, and administrative tasks. The successful candidate will perform physical and analytical testing, compare results against standard specifications, and maintain accurate records. Salary:£28,000 per annum
Hours:Monday to Friday, 08:00-16:00 (30-minute unpaid break, 37.5 hours per week)


Responsibilities


As an R&D Technician, your primary responsibilities will include:


Conducting tests on existing products to ensure smooth downstream processes.Creating and maintaining work instructions and inspection plans for finished goods.Performing SAP R&D-related transactions accurately and promptly to facilitate seamless operations.Supporting the Commercial team by testing competitor products.Running analytical quality tests (training on data interpretation will be provided).Completing other administrative tasks as required.

Qualifications


Minimum Requirements:

Comfortable working autonomously with a proactive attitude. Previous experience in a lab-based working environment. A-Levels (Grades A-C) in Maths and Science (Chemistry preferred). Strong communication skills, fluent in both written and spoken English. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.


Preferred Requirements:

Experience working in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with SAP systems. Practical experience in a manufacturing environment.

Day-to-Day


On a typical day, you will:


Conduct physical and analytical tests on products and record results.Collaborate with the Technical and Commercial teams to support product development and competitor analysis.Update and maintain inspection plans and work instructions.Input data into SAP systems and ensure accuracy for downstream processes.Perform quality checks and interpret data to ensure compliance with specifications.Handle administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of the Technical team.
