About the role
Reporting directly to the Brewery Director and as part of the Site Leadership Team, our Head of Quality plays a key role for HEINEKEN Tadcaster, as we continue to raise the bar to meet our global standards where TPM (Total Productive Management) and continuous improvement are fundamental.
The Head of Quality’s role is integral in preventing food safety and product quality problems by improving the quality assurance framework, ensuring compliance, and promoting Quality Culture across all brewery teams. You’ll lead the quality team that enables production and its supporting functions to maintain a stable process by carrying out process capability deployments and providing reliable product and process data on time in full.
You’ll coach, educate, lead and inspire your multi-disciplinary team within the Quality Department to deliver expert support to our colleagues on site about the measurement of raw materials, product, process and packaging standards.
You’ll also be a major influence on the rest of the site. You’ll add value as a member of the Site Leadership Team, with your continuous improvement mindset and positive attitude towards collaboration. This will be key as you work to align your objectives with your peers in Brewing, Packaging, TPM, Engineering and Logistics, to achieve overall targeted business results.
Responsibilities include:
Ensure the quality of all incoming raw, packaging and auxiliary materials by driving supplier performance management follow-up and corrective/preventive actions at the brewery level (for local suppliers) and additionally performing audits according to the SSH audit plan.
Integrate Health and Safety in all QA related workflows and procedures.
Integrate food safety in operational procedures and monitor consumer concerns.
Maintenance of all relevant QM, food safety and laboratory management systems.
Site coordination lead for the successful New Product Introduction, realizing new and exciting consumer propositions within the production areas.
Who we’re looking for
We are looking for an experienced leader with recognized qualifications; however, what is more important to us is your operational leadership and people management skills and experience with similar complexity and size.
Your can-do attitude and enthusiasm will be warmly welcomed, and your problem-solving skills will be put to good use. On top of this, you will have:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Agronomy or Engineering Chemistry.
Preferred but not essential is higher education in Brewing and Malting Technology.
At least 5 years’ experience in food and beverage production and technology, quality control and assurance systems.
Experience in managing and leading a high-performing team.
Experience working with Quality and Food Safety Management Systems in a laboratory operations food and beverage production environment.
Experience working in Brewing / Packaging / Utilities / NPI.
Continuous improvement methodologies like TPM / Lean / 6 Sigma.
