A leading supplier within the labelling machinery sector is seeking a Project Engineer to join their growing team. Working on projects from initial design concepts through to customer acceptance, where no two will be the same, you will learn the design process of our business that leads to machine installations all over the world.

BASIC SALARY: up to £45,000 per annum

JOB DESCRIPTION: Project Engineer - Capital Equipment, Packaging, Labelling Machinery

Reporting directly to the operations / Lead Designer, you'll be involved with multiple projects where you'll undertake various responsibilities including 3D CAD design, managing BOM, detailing specification reports and product modification and testing. Teamwork is an important part of our business as you will be working with everyone from our sales team to our manufacturing and installation teams. You'll have every opportunity to grow in this role and we'll encourage you to take on more responsibility over time.

The role and responsibilities will be varied by nature, whilst some of our machines are very similar but no project is ever the same. Working with multinational companies to start ups you will support the design of machines that are sold in many different sectors e.g. food and beverage, pharmaceutical and cosmetics.

Your main responsibilities will include:
· Interpreting and understanding detailed drawings to produce design documentation.
· Utilising 3D CAD to support the design and build phase of the project (SolidWorks or similar)
· Creating BOM for each project
· Supporting the build and installation teams throughout the projects

PERSON SPECIFICATION: Project Engineer - Capital Equipment, Packaging, Labelling Machinery

We're open to your background and experience but it is likely that you'll have experience as a Technical Project Engineer and have been involved in the design, development and implementation of projects within a manufacturer of packaging or labelling machinery. However, applications from Project Engineers from other sectors will be considered. An established Draughts Person / Designer who is looking for the next step in their career may also be considered if you have a background in packaging or labelling. Experience of machined components and practices, weldments, sheet metal / folding & material selection would also be an advantage.

Ideally you will have:
· Experience of 3D CAD packages (SolidWorks is desirable but any other CAD experience should be transferable)
· A proven track record of delivering engineering projects in a manufacturing industry
· Experience of creating BOM and selecting materials
· The ability to understand design schematics and documentation
· The ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, while handling various projects at the same time
· Mechanical, technical, engineering and/or project management qualifications
