Engineering Project Engineer

About the Company

We’re working with a well-established business that designs and builds automation and robotic systems used across industries like medical devices and packaging.

They’ve built a strong reputation for solving complex engineering problems and, as a result, have a healthy pipeline of exciting projects ahead. With continued growth and a people-first ownership structure, they’re now looking to bring in an experienced Project Manager to join the team.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be taking ownership of multiple engineering projects from start to finish — making sure everything runs smoothly, on time, and within budget.

It’s a hands-on role where you’ll be coordinating teams, working closely with customers, and keeping everything on track commercially and technically.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

* Managing up to 4 projects at any one time

* Keeping projects on schedule and aligned with agreed deliverables

* Taking full ownership of project scope and customer requirements

* Making sure key milestones (including payments) are met

* Coordinating handovers between internal teams

Technical Oversight

* Running design reviews and keeping engineering standards high

* Overseeing purchasing to stay in line with budgets

* Supporting the build, controls, and software integration throughout the project

Customer Interaction

* Acting as the main point of contact for clients

* Keeping customers updated and managing expectations

* Handling changes, delays, or risks in a proactive way

What Success Looks Like

* Projects delivered on time and within budget

* Milestones and payments hit as planned

* Smooth project handovers

* Happy customers who feel informed and supported

* Strong collaboration across internal teams

* High-quality outputs from design through to final build

What They’re Looking For

Experience

* Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)

* Around 10 years’ experience managing engineering or automation projects

* Experience working with regulated industries (medical, healthcare, packaging, etc.)

* Strong background in managing budgets, timelines, and resources

* Comfortable using project planning tools

Skills

* Organised and good at juggling multiple priorities

* Commercially aware

* Confident leading cross-functional teams

* Strong communicator who can work with different stakeholders

* Good problem-solver who can adapt when things change

* Detail-focused and quality-driven
