Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer – FMCG

Location: Crawley
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, day shift only

The Role

A Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer is required for an FMCG manufacturer in Crawley. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced production environment, working with high-speed machinery in food, beverage, cosmetics, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.

The engineer will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring the smooth running of production lines by diagnosing faults and resolving issues efficiently. A strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems is essential, along with the ability to read wiring diagrams and technical schematics.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking for a stable role with a competitive salary and a Monday-to-Friday day shift schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on high-speed production machinery

  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults quickly and effectively

  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals

  • Work closely with production teams to improve machinery efficiency and reliability

  • Ensure minimal downtime by troubleshooting and resolving issues proactively

  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and company maintenance procedures

    Requirements

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment

  • Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance skills

  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and troubleshoot faults

  • Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance

  • Experience working on food, drink, pharmaceutical, or cosmetics production machinery preferred
