Mechanical Engineer - COMAH chemical facility

Location:  North West England, commutable from Manchester, Salford, Bolton, Warrington, Wigan, Stockport and Preston

Salary:  £45,000 - £55,000 per annum

About the role
You’ll ensure the safe and efficient operation of mechanical systems, managing projects, maintenance and compliance. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading mechanical-biased projects from design to completion.

  • Developing maintenance strategies and troubleshooting issues.

  • Ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards (e.g., HAZOP, PSSR).

  • Collaborating with teams and overseeing contractors.

    What we need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Experience in a chemical, pharmaceutical or petrochemical plant, preferably COMAH-regulated.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and safety regulations.

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
