Mechanical Design Engineer required for a pharmaceutical manufacturer based in Liverpool. The successful candidate will be designing and developing mechanical engineering aspects of complex machinery to a project specification and in line with project schedules, technical regulations and business objectives.

Mechanical Design Engineer Position Overview

Confer with engineers, customers and others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects and products.
Design, implement, maintain and improve process equipment, components, products and systems.
Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
Direct and co-ordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation and testing activities to ensure compliance with all mechanical aspects of specifications, codes and customer requirements.
Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish process compliance relating to site installations, industry standards and specifications.
Prepare specifications for purchase of mechanical materials and equipment.
Prepare and study technical drawings and specifications to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements.

Mechanical Design Engineer Position Requirements

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Qualification
Light to medium sheet metal and welding design knowledge
Has worked with complex assemblies
Experience of Designing of Machined Parts
Geometric tolerancing experience.
Piping design knowledge
SolidWorks (desirable)
Pharmaceutical / pressure vessel experience (desirable)
Experience in a highly regulated heavy industry

Mechanical Design Engineer Position Remuneration

Salary dependent on experience but likely £35k-£40k

Hybrid working arrangement
Monday-Friday with a 1pm Friday finish
Income protection & EAP (doctors app, mental health support & general wellbeing)
25 days plus BH (we do operate a Christmas shutdown that uses 3 of these days)
4% Employer & 4% employee - Legal & General
RAC cover
Death in Service (x4)
