Job Description:

We're looking for an Mechanical Design Engineer to join our clients experienced and growing team. The role will involve visiting clients premises nationwide to survey and design machinery guarding solutions to both old and new machinery.

The work is predominantly sheet metal design and light steel/aluminium fabricated assemblies. Our client also design and install plastic fabricated guarding. There is a very small amount of design work in relation to machined components.

Currently for their design packages, they use AutoDesk Inventor, along with AutoCAD, Fusion 360, Solidworks, and 3DS Max. Experience in the use of one of these softwares is preffered.

NOTE: This role will involve travel to and from client sites nationwide, and also staying away from time to time. We estimate this to be 3 days per week at the facility in Halifax, and 2 days per week travelling and away at client sites. Roughly around 5 nights away per month.

Candidate Requirements:



Driving licence required.

No criminal record as some clients (Defence & Nuclear primarily) required DBS background checks for clearance.

7% unmatched company pension, optional employee contributions, laptop, iPhone, company credit card for daily expenses, use of company vehicles as required for site visits.

25 days holiday plus stats (also subject to workload, they do not require holidays to be saved for the period between Christmas and New Year, we usually close and give this time gratis).
