Medivet Stroud Green is a small, friendly 1st opinion practice based in North London.

We are recruiting for a Maternity Cover contract, ideal if you’re looking for more stability than Locumwhilst still enjoying the benefits of a permanent role!

We are always on the look for exceptional vets and upon completion of your contract, would work with you to find an alternative position with us if desired.

This is a sole charge role supported by our RVN and VCA. Our clinic is well organised, equipped with consult, theatre, digital and dental x-rays, in-house biochemistry/haematology machines, multi parameter monitoring and ultrasound.

We have a great client base who are dedicated to their pets and there is lots of opportunity to thoroughly work-up cases in-house.

To support us further, we have access to advanced diagnostics, seamless round the clock care via our Kensingtonhospital, and the input of certificate holders and wider colleagues. This allows us great follow through on our cases when things go beyond first opinion level. You can take a tour of our hospitalhere.

We are situated in Finsbury Park, well-connected to Crouch Hill and Finsbury Park Stations with access to Piccadilly and Victoria Tube Lines, Great Northern and Thameslink Rail.

Role Accountabilities

In this role you will:

  • Deliver exceptional clinical care to your patients during consultations and procedures.
  • Provide exceptional care to your clients, giving clear updates on patients.
  • Deliver professional excellence, observing the highest standards of regulatory, practice and operational compliance.
  • Prepare tailored, accurate treatment and care plans for each patient with clear cost estimates.
  • Engage, mentor and develop your team, enhancing their skills and utilising these in the most effective way.
  • Complete clinical handover and arrange transfer of any patient needing out of hours or enhanced care.
  • Pro-actively support and share clinical best practice within and across practices and the wider Medivet community.

Your Skills and Experience

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
  • Experienced in delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients.
  • Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
  • Able to demonstrate clinical leadership skills.
  • Experience of implementing a progressive clinical culture.
  • Experience of supporting nurse consults and schedule 3 procedures, with an understanding of how this contributes to clinic performance and efficiency.
  • Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
