About CKS Global Solutions

We design and build IT solutions for harsh industrial environments. Our rugged computers, workstations, keyboards, and trackerballs support a wide variety of global applications, including food processing, pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, transport, and military.

We’re a proven leader in industrial hardware, known for long-life reliability, precision engineering, and uncompromising quality. We’re looking for a talented Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to help shape the next generation of rugged, high-performance products.

Duties and responsibilities

This isn’t just another design role. You’ll work hands-on with a team of experienced engineers to create hardware built to survive in the toughest conditions. You’ll:

  • Design and develop mechanical components for rugged computers, displays, and control devices.
  • Work with sheet metal designs to bring innovative, industrial-grade concepts to life.
  • As part of a small engineering team, you’ll create concept designs and evolve these into finished products.
  • Use Autodesk Inventor (and other CAD tools) to model and refine designs.
  • Bring fresh ideas to improve existing designs for durability and performance.

    Experience and qualifications

    Essential Requirements:

  • A minimum HND in an Engineering discipline.
  • Understanding of mechanical principles and systems.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred).
  • Sharp problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Great communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

    Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • 1–2 years’ experience in design engineering, machine design, and product design — ideally with sheet metal work.
  • Understanding of thermal management design for electronics (heat sinks, airflow).
  • Basic knowledge of electronic engineering and wiring diagrams is a bonus.

    Benefits of working at CKS

  • 4-day condensed working week – Enjoy a long weekend every week.
  • Genuine focus on work-life balance — your well-being is as important as your work ethic.
  • Be part of a tight-knit engineering team where your ideas have real impact.
  • Work on products trusted by industries where quality and reliability are critical.
  • Gain hands-on experience in the full design-to-production cycle.
  • Competitive salary and opportunities for growth.
  • Work in a friendly, supportive environment that values innovation and quality.

Ready to engineer something that lasts?

If you’re passionate about mechanical design and want to see your work powering equipment in some of the world’s most demanding environments, we’d love to hear from you.
