We've been assigned by one of the best performing NHS Trusts in the UK to help them recruit aConsultant in Neurologyon either aSubstantive or a 12-month NHS Fixed Term basis.


Our client is one of the largest teaching hospital trusts in Europe, with access to leading clinical expertise and medical technology. They care for people from across the country and the 780,000 residents of the catchment area. The Trust has a budget of £1.1 billion and employs 20,000 staff. Annually, they treat over 1,500,000 people across their 2,000 beds and outpatient settings, including 100,000 day cases, 125,000 in-patients, 260,000 A&E visits, and 1,050,000 outpatient appointments. They operate from 7 hospitals on 5 sites, all linked by a shared vision to provide excellent specialist and integrated care.


The role involves various duties, including:



  1. Participating in a 1 in 10 acute "Consultant of the Week" rota covering neurology inpatients on ward 17.
  2. Assisting with Clinical Governance & Audit duties.
  3. Delivering undergraduate medical teaching and contributing to postgraduate training programs.
  4. Supervising patients and contributing to multidisciplinary team meetings.
  5. Providing specialist Movement Disorder and general neurology outpatient services.
  6. Contributing to inpatient neurology services and urgent pathways such as the first fit pathway.
  7. Supporting the development of the regional neuroscience centre, including research and specialist services.
  8. Facilitating and contributing to ongoing clinical research programs.


This opportunity is based in Yorkshire, close to two international airports, with excellent private and public schools, offering a blend of rural and urban living.
