Hobson Prior is seeking a Bioprocessing Scientist to join a biotech organization in the United Kingdom. In this role, you will support the production of sterile gene therapy products while ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). This position involves hands-on manufacturing, facility monitoring, and maintaining high-quality standards in a cleanroom environment.

Please note that to be considered for this role you must have the right to work in this location.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow established procedures to produce gene therapy products.
  • Use sterile techniques to ensure product safety and quality.
  • Maintain compliance with GMP standards in cleanroom environments.
  • Monitor and clean the manufacturing facility regularly.
  • Perform environmental checks to ensure safe and compliant operations.
  • Manage inventory, including stock checks, ordering, and storage.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Identify and report any issues or deviations from procedures.
  • -Support technology transfer activities for new processes when required.
  • Participate in planning to meet production timelines.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and company policies.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Background in a scientific discipline (degree, HND/HNC, or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, preferably biologics or aseptic processes.
  • Understanding of GMP and its application in manufacturing.
  • Practical skills in sample preparation and analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain professionalism under pressure.
