Introduction:

Avon Network Events is the UK office of Advanced Business Events (ABE), a leading provider in the creation of international industrial business conventions, combining bespoke B2B networking opportunities with world-class conferences.


Headquartered in Paris with offices and consultants globally, we produce around 30-40 events a year, ranging in size and industry scope. The sectors we cover include aerospace; space and defence; aviation; automotive; rail; advanced and additive manufacturing; chemicals; cosmetics; pharmaceutical; energy; environment; technology; infrastructure; composite materials; medical; packaging and food processing.


The ABE concept of one-to-one meetings offers participants a wide range of potential clients and business partners. Our teams work to bring together the suppliers, decision makers, contractors, and other key stakeholders in the relevant industry sectors to ensure all event participants come away satisfied.


We are currently looking for an Assistant Event Manager who will work as part of the small but growing UK team to assist in the conference management, marketing, and sales of our international events portfolio, with a particular focus on the UK, USA, Canada, Germany and Italy. The events in question will be focused on new technologies and global advancements in the automotive, aerospace, and space and defence manufacturing sectors.


This is a diverse role requiring someone who is looking to develop their skills in a range of business areas, with support from the wider team. As such, we are looking for a driven and ambitious team player, with a passion for delivering outstanding events, who is committed to bringing new ideas and a positive attitude to the table.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Researching, identifying and recruiting speakers to take part in our international conferences across Europe, Southeast Asia and North America
  • Assisting the conference team in managing speakers from initial recruitment through to on-site experience and post-event feedback
  • Assisting the conference team in developing and identifying new trends and technologies within the high-tech industries, in particular the aerospace, space and defence markets
  • Assisting the marketing team to create engaging content for social media and mailers
  • Assisting the sales team by researching and identifying UK companies to take part as sponsors and exhibitors in our UK and European event offering


What we are looking for:

  • Self-starter who can take the initiative
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Excellent level of written and spoken English
  • Confident and professional communicator – you will be expected to work with a range of clients with various areas of expertise
  • Interest in emerging technology and how we can apply it to industry
  • Interest in international business and building relationships globally
  • Proactive, confident, professional manner and well-organised
  • Ideally at least 1 year of experience working in an event production and/or management role, however this is not mandatory
