Up to £32,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Are you a Physiologist looking for a new and exciting job opportunity? Our leading healthcare provider has a unique requirement for a Wellbeing Physiologist to work along side an on-site Occupational Health team peripatetic in Nottingham.

Physiologist duties:

  • Lifestyle clinical assessments of patients

  • Carrying out one-to-one and group based health and wellbeing interventions

  • Providing advice to patients on patient's health profile (adiposity, biochemistry, blood screening) and stage of behaviour change.

  • To formulate and implement written action plans based on treatment prescription, which is modified for the applicable stage of change.

  • To support patients living with lifestyle induced disease to make positive and sustainable lifestyle choices for enhanced chronic disease management.

  • Provide guidance and support to employees to make positive lifestyle changes, including nutrition and exercise habits.

  • Give assistance and reassurance to clients during their medical tests.

  • To deliver evidence-based exercise sessions to groups.

  • To use specialised equipment to perform clinical physiological tests and record and analyse physiological data.

  • To interpret clinical data and assess patients’ clinical risk, making informed decisions whether to escalate

  • Support the preparation and delivery of educational workshops and health & wellbeing webinars.

  • To be proactive in the design of health promotion campaigns empowering employees with the knowledge to make informed decisions on their health.

  • To be proactive and agile in managing clinical diary with the support of clinical lead.

  • To regularly present clinical and utilisation data with key stakeholders.

  • Getting clients and equipment into correct locations and positions for events.

  • To produce new and innovative strategies to enhance the role preventative services play in an Occupational Health Service.

  • Empower others to be accountable for their own health and wellbeing.

    Physiologist required skills:

  • Must be degree qualified in Sport Science/Health Science/Exercise Physiology/Sports Therapy

  • Must have previous experience working in sport, medical, health, wellbeing or fitness environment

  • Ideally some previous study of human physiology, exercise, biochemistry, psychology or nutrition

  • (Desirable) Qualification in Level 2 Gym Instructing

  • (Desirable) Qualification in Level 3 Personal Training

  • (Desirable) Qualification in Level 3 Exercise Referral
