Diomed – Kempston - 12 Month Fixed Term (Maternity Cover)
We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager for a 12-month fixed term contract to cover Maternity Leave on our 9 am-5 pm shift, Monday to Friday.
In this managerial position your time will be split between monitoring operational metrics and being on the warehouse floor, engaging with the team, and proactively managing any situations that arise.
Supported by a team of warehouse colleagues, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional service, compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards and seamless coordination with other sites and departments.
Developing, mentoring and leading the team to drive productivity, cost efficiency, performance and personal development whilst being able to plan and prioritise ever changing workloads for maximum efficiency are key requirements.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar Warehouse Manager role is essential, as is a high standard of numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Based in Kempston (MK42), we have free on-site parking and are within walking distance to bus stops.
Your responsibilities will include: Oversee the operational management of the warehouse operations.
Troubleshoot issues to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the warehouse.
To identify resource gaps and proactively work to address them.
To monitor and improve your team’s performance, utilising their skills to the best of their abilities, ensuring all team tasks are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
Encourage teamwork, continuous improvement, time/cost savings and environmental best practice without affecting quality.
Identify, set and monitor KPI’s, creating/presenting reports as required.
Be responsible for the accuracy of data entered into the WMS and accuracy of all records for the warehouse, including updating/creating SOP’s, WI’s and Risk Assessments.
Ensure all team members have the necessary training, training out new and updated processes as needed.
To ensure all goods are transported, received, stored and dispatched in accordance with processes and legislation.
Ensure a safe working environment is maintained and all staff adopt safe working practices in accordance with company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Feed into and attend various meetings – presenting data for areas under direct control.
To take part in site inspections and audits and manage the completion of all audit points for areas under direct control.
Budget/cost centre management and invoice reconciliation.
What you’ll need to succeed: Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar Warehouse Manager role and be able to demonstrate a strong track record of performance.
Be a natural leader, with the ability and drive to lead and mentor a team.
Strong skills in inventory management and quality control.
Experience in conducting investigations and/or performance meetings.
Be organised, with great attention to detail and accuracy.
The ability to multitask, problem solve, meet deadlines and prioritise a changing to-do list.
Good communication and numeracy skills, both written and verbal, with a good command of English.
Experience of using a WMS and/or ERP system.
Able to communicate effectively at all levels.
Have good health and safety awareness.
High proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word & Excel.
Have a friendly, outgoing personality.
Knowledge of international shipping would be an advantage, but not essential.
Previous experience of working in a pharmaceutical and/or ISO 9001 / highly regulated environment would be advantage, but not essential.
