Vacancies Transformation Lead – Digital Innovation Job Introduction We are looking for a forward-thinking Transformation Lead – Digital Innovation to join our organisation.
The Transformation Lead – Digital Innovation will lead the organisation’s work in horizon scanning, testing, and scaling new and emerging technologies that have the potential to transform patient care, operational delivery, and staff experience.
The postholder will act as a catalyst for evidence-informed innovation by bridging front-line insight, clinical priorities, and external innovation ecosystems.
Base: Flexible
Main Responsibility Lead identification, due diligence, and structured assessment of new technologies across digital health, AI, and care delivery innovation.
Design and manage pilots in collaboration with clinical services, ensuring robust governance and outcomes evaluation.
Embed an innovation lifecycle approach from ideation and proof-of-concept through to scaling and commissioning.
Ensure that all pilots adhere to data protection (GDPR), cyber security, DCB standards, and clinical risk frameworks.
Maintain an organisational innovation pipeline and create transparent prioritisation frameworks.
Share insights and learning through publications, events, and contribution to regional or national digital forums.
Identify opportunities to integrate promising innovations into mainstream care models.

The Ideal Candidate Personal Specification
Minimum 3 years experience leading digital innovation or research-based transformation within the NHS or similar.
Familiarity with health technology trends including AI, wearable tech and virtual wards.
Understanding of IG, ethics, and evidence standards for digital health interventions.
Proven ability to manage uncertainty, iterate rapidly, and make evidence-informed decisions.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to pitch ideas, secure funding, and influence clinicians.
Experience developing pilot protocols, evaluation frameworks, and dissemination plans.
Experience developing business cases and presenting to executive audiences.
Strong skills in managing multi-stakeholder projects with academic, commercial, and NHS partners.
Strong skills in building and maintaining relationships with external suppliers.
Experience in clinical research, product development, or digital health validation.
Involvement in health tech accelerators or pilot evaluation methodologies.
Knowledge of implementation science, behavioural insights, and clinical pathway redesign.
Experience securing innovation grants or collaborating funded projects.
Familiarity with the NICE evidence standards framework for digital health technologies.
Other requirements: Occasional travel required
