As the Technical Sales Specialist , you will be responsible for supporting technical pre-sales activities within your region, working closely with the regional sales team and leadership. You will be the NGS subject matter expert for our NGS solutions offerings and sharing that knowledge through customer meetings, seminars, webinars, and other activities. You will also be instrumental in closing the sales along with the regional sales team to achieve your annual sales target.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Partner closely with our sales team and leaders to generate/qualify/close sales opportunities.
Work with product management/R&D/applications/marketing/field sales to develop and disseminate technical content, strategy, collaborations, and go-to market activities.
Maintain appropriate records and provide relevant information to help forecast business as needed.
Proactively gather, process, and disseminate competitive intelligence and market feedback both to field sales as well as internal product management colleagues.
Provide weekly, monthly business/activity reports, as required.
Coordinate and/or conducts both technical and promotional seminars, trade shows, vendor shows, and related activities as deemed necessary.
Achieve assigned District sales goals by calling on existing and potential new customers via field visits, email, telephone, video conference, etc.
Work closely with sales executive counterparts to develop specific account growth, penetration, and support activities.
Provide mentorship, technical training, and education to colleagues and/or customers as applicable.

Organized, detail oriented and results driven.
Ability to effectively network internally and externally.
Strength in prioritizing and managing your own schedule while coordinating with numerous team members.
Expertise in interpersonal communications with an ability to build relationships with all levels of personas.
WHERE YOU WILL WORK
Location: Remote-eligible for candidates based in key East Coast life sciences hubs, including New York City, Philadelphia, Greater Boston, Washington D.C./Baltimore, and Research Triangle Park (Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill Area).
Territory Coverage: East Coast Life Sciences Corridor, encompassing New York, Philadelphia, Greater Boston, Washington D.C./Baltimore, and RTP.
Travel Requirements: >80% travel within the region to engage with customers and stakeholders, conduct NGS instrument demonstrations and sales, attend regional events, and support market development initiatives.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING US
8+ years of in-depth, hands-on NGS including, but not limited to, sample preparation, library creation, sequencing run, basic data analysis (QC metric evaluation), and troubleshooting.
Laboratory (liquid handling) automation is a plus.
Experience with immunology, cell biology, oncology, and molecular biology via prior work experience and education.
Strength in presenting technical information from 1:1 meetings to seminars / webinars.
Ability to create highly technical presentations.
Knowledge of the sales process with an acumen for closing sales.
WHAT YOUR EDUCATION LOOKS LIKE
Minimum bachelor’s degree in the life sciences; PhD highly preferred.
HOW WE WILL REWARD YOU
The base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $160,000 DOE.
This position is eligible to earn incentive compensation that is calculated and paid in accordance with the applicable Sales Compensation Plan.
