A Day in the Life

We are seeking an experienced Technical Consultant to join our Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) team, supporting the UK and Ireland. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a skilled, collaborative team at the forefront of advancing transformative neurological technologies.

In this pivotal role, you will provide expert technical and clinical support to healthcare professionals across the DBS field, helping to drive the successful adoption of Medtronic’s innovative DBS therapies—including in-procedure capital equipment and software platforms. A key focus will be educating clinicians on our cutting-edge BrainSense technology, enabling its full potential to improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Train both internal sales teams and external clinical stakeholders on patient programming and related technologies
  • Effectively communicate and sell the clinical value of the technology to key decision-makers
  • Collaborate with clinicians using tools like MatLab and explore Local Field Potentials (LFPs) to advance BrainSense technology applications
  • Work closely with DBS sales and marketing teams to ensure successful launches of Percept, SenSight leads, and SureTune4
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to anticipate market trends and uncover new service opportunities


Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Degree in Medical Engineering, Neuroscience, or a related research field (or equivalent qualification)
  • Proven experience with brain imaging and a solid understanding of neuroanatomy
  • Background in bioengineering, radiology, neurosurgery, or neurology is highly desirable
  • Experience working with patients affected by movement disorders
  • Willingness to travel extensively (70%+), primarily within the UK and Ireland, with occasional international travel
  • Valid driving licence
