About Iso

Isomorphic Labs (IsoLabs) was founded in 2021 and is led by Sir Demis Hassabis. Our aim is to usher in a new era of biomedical breakthroughs and find cures for some of humanity’s devastating diseases.

Our foundations are built on the success of Google DeepMind’s AlphaFold, but we didn’t stop there! We are continuing to develop and implement state-of-the-art technologies as we move towards our goal of dramatically accelerating and improving the process of designing and bringing new medicines to patients.

We have built a world-leading drug design engine comprising foundational AI models that are capable of working across multiple therapeutic areas and drug modalities. The company is continually innovating on model architecture and developing cutting-edge capabilities to advance rational drug design.

Your impact

We are building the largest foundation models in biotech and we’re immediately applying them to directly cure disease. You will play a key role in making sure that our model training is reliable and we accelerate our progress with scaling the models and its usage. You will also build tools and processes to continue the scaling.

What you will do

  • Contribute to the technical strategy for consistently improving the reliability for our training runs
  • Build and operate processes and tools for effective software development practices
  • Build and operate processes and tools for effective operational management of research and production software
  • Operate and handle research, development, and production cloud infrastructure and systems
  • Partner and collaborate with a diverse set of teams incl. science, research, product, business development and operations
  • Contribute to core technical decisions (e.g. choice of tooling, infrastructure, and architectural design)

Skills and qualifications

  • Experience with on Google Cloud Platform or other cloud-based platforms
  • Experience with monitoring & alerting systems
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform and at least one major Cloud Platform
  • Experience with CI/CD, Release management and DevOps related technologies
  • Experience with Grafana/Prometheus/Splunk or similar monitoring/observability technologies
  • Comfortable with Shell Scripting and Python programming (or other programming languages)
  • Experience building secure/scalable platforms/products on cloud
  • Practical experience with modern SRE lifecycle, tools, and frameworks

Nice to have:

  • Experience building, deploying and maintaining production systems on GCP
  • Worked with large scale ML operations
  • Strong foundations in software engineering before moving into a technical operations role
  • Experience supporting both production systems and Machine Learning team/pipelines
  • Comfortable with identifying security and performance risks and implementing measures to mitigate them
  • MLOps frameworks and tooling experience are highly desirable
  • Basic knowledge of biology / chemistry
  • Pharma and/or biotech experience, ideally with a focus on drug discovery
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent experience
