Lead DeltaV Automation Engineer | Pharmaceutical Expansion Project

ENG Bauen is supporting a leading global pharmaceutical company in delivering a major expansion project, requiring a highly skilled Lead DeltaV Automation Engineer to oversee the full automation scope. This is an opportunity to take on a key role in a high-value investment program, working on a cutting-edge manufacturing facility that will enhance pharmaceutical production capabilities.

Our client is investing significantly in new technologies and advanced automation solutions to drive operational efficiency and ensure world-class manufacturing standards. As part of this strategic growth, they require an experienced automation professional to lead the implementation of DeltaV systems across this multi-year CAPEX project.

In this role, you will act as the primary automation authority, managing DeltaV system integration, recipe building, and validation processes from inception to handover. This position is ideal for an automation leader with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech sectors, seeking to play a pivotal role in the delivery of a complex, large-scale automation initiative.

Key Responsibilities:



Take full ownership of the DeltaV automation scope, ensuring systems are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with regulatory and operational requirements.

Lead the design, implementation, and commissioning of DeltaV DCS systems, ensuring seamless integration within the facility’s broader automation framework.

*

Serve as the principal automation interface for internal stakeholders, external vendors, and project teams, ensuring alignment across all automation deliverables.

*

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the automation team, ensuring best practices in programming, recipe configuration, and validation.

*

Ensure all automation activities comply with industry standards, including GxP and regulatory guidelines, maintaining a strong focus on quality and compliance.

*

Support the full project lifecycle, from concept and design through to commissioning, qualification, and operational handover.

Required Skills & Experience:

*

Degree in Automation Process Control, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

*

Minimum of 7+ years of experience in DeltaV automation engineering within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or biopharma industries.

*

Strong expertise in DeltaV programming, recipe development, and system integration.

*

Demonstrated experience leading automation teams on major CAPEX projects within regulated environments.

*

Deep understanding of GxP regulations, compliance, and validation processes in pharmaceutical manufacturing.

*

Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions and align project teams.
