Automation Software Engineer:
Our client is a global manufacturing company whose UK site is based in Surrey and their head office in Germany. They are looking for a Automation Software Engineer who has good working knowledge of Schneider or Rockwell PLC's.
Experience of working in the pharma or manufacturing / packaging industry is essential.
Training on the products will be at their main site in Germany. It is working 40 hours per week, based as Monday to Friday 8 hours per day, with over time and overnight allowance. Bank holidays (when required) are 1.5 with a day in lieu. Our client also offers a company bonus scheme, 25 days holiday, medical insurance and a company car / car allowance.
Duties:

  • Preparation, installation, startup, production support, maintenance, and repair of our machines
  • Support the assembly of equipment and acceptance testing (usually onsite at the customer)
  • Train customers on the equipment as and when required
  • Identify potential equipment improvements
  • Provide telephone support to our customers
  • Work closely and communicate effectively with the Customer Service Department in UK and Germany
  • Expected travel time for up to (Apply online only) days per year (mainly weekdays)
  • Travel generally in the UK and Ireland, but maybe also throughout the world.
    Requirements:
  • Degree in Electronic / Automation Engineering
  • A solid career history with relevant industrial experience in an automation role, ideally in the pharmaceutical/ medical device industry
  • Good working knowledge of Schneider or Rockwell PLC systems
  • Creativity and inventiveness in the solution of complex requirements
  • Personal initiative and independent work
  • High communication and teamwork skills
  • Excellent written and spoken English language skills is essential.
  • German language skills not essential but advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel worldwide up to 150 days / year
