We’re working with an ambitious and fast-paced start-up in the pharmaceutical and consumer goods space, looking for a proactive and hands-on Shift Production Manager to join their operations team. This is a unique opportunity to lead a small team, shape day-to-day manufacturing processes, and grow alongside the business as it scales. About the Role

You’ll manage production during your shift, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency are maintained to high standards. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll support a culture of continuous improvement while leading a team of four operators and technicians — with scope to expand your team as the company grows.

What You’ll Be Doing

Lead day-to-day production operations during your shift in a GMP-compliant environment

Ensure production targets, quality standards, and safety protocols are met consistently

Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to troubleshoot and improve processes

Coach, develop, and support your team, offering clear direction and performance feedback

Maintain accurate production records and participate in inspections and audits

Drive operational improvements and support equipment cleaning, maintenance, and validation

Contribute to building scalable systems and practices suited to a growing start-up

What You’ll Need

Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field

4–6 years of experience in regulated manufacturing (ideally pharmaceutical or consumer goods)

Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or shift management role

Familiarity with GMP, SOPs, and health & safety regulations

Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Ability to adapt in a start-up setting and contribute to business growth

Experience with production planning and digital tools a plus

Role Details

Hours: 8am – 4pm (with possible adjustment of ±1 hour in the future)

Location: On-site, Kent

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000, depending on experience
