Service Engineer Refrigeration & Air Conditioning

Location: Peterborough (within 20-mile radius)
Salary: Up to £42,000 Overtime Paid Travel
Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm)

Overview
We are seeking a skilled Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Service Engineer to join our high-performing Peterborough branch. With a strong existing team of engineers, we are looking for a dedicated professional to deliver high-quality service, maintenance, and repair across a wide range of client sites.
The Role
As a Service Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional service to our clients. This includes planned preventative maintenance (PPM), breakdown response, diagnostics, fault-finding, and repair work. You will work across a variety of industrial and commercial sites, including food processing facilities, offices, pharmaceuticals, and domestic premises. The role is predominantly air conditioning-focused, with some refrigeration work on varying scales.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out PPM and servicing on HVAC and refrigeration systems.

Diagnose and resolve faults and breakdowns.

Perform system adjustments, component replacements, and repairs.

Escalate and manage more complex technical issues.

Complete accurate service reports and maintain client communication.

Training and Development
We are committed to investing in our employees. Our bespoke, City & Guilds accredited training centre delivers ongoing training in areas such as service and maintenance, commissioning, brazing, refrigeration, and chillers. Last year alone, 117 engineers completed development programmes. We also hold top accreditations with leading manufacturers including Danfoss, Mitsubishi, Daikin, Panasonic, and Fujitsu, providing access to the latest technical training and support.
What We Offer
Competitive salary up to £42,000 per annum.

Fully equipped, high-spec company van and tablet.

Overtime opportunities with enhanced rates: time and a half after 5 pm weekdays, double time on weekends.

Engineers take turns on a 1-in-5 week standby rota, with standby allowance plus overtime if called out.

25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (increasing with service).

Company pension scheme.

Long-term career development through formal qualifications and manufacturer training.

What Were Looking For
Demonstrable experience as a mobile air conditioning or refrigeration service engineer.

F-Gas certification (City & Guilds 2079 or equivalent) is essential.

NVQ Level 2 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning is desirable.

CSCS card and plasma ticket would be advantageous.

Full UK Driving Licence required.

Strong technical and problem-solving ability with excellent customer-facing skills.

Based within 20 miles of Peterborough.
