We’re seeking a Technical Product Manager to join our high-performing product team. This role is central to the development and evolution of Reportum, Qinecsa’s leading intake platform.

You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, quality assurance, customer-facing teams, and clients to deliver product features that solve real-world problems at scale. You will also play a hands-on role in defining how those features are scoped, specified, and implemented—helping us build solutions that are both technically sound and deeply user-centric.

🔧 What You’ll Do

  • • Own the delivery of product features and enhancements across their full lifecycle—from discovery through to release
  • • Act as Product Owner in agile teams: manage backlogs, write stories, define acceptance criteria, and lead planning sessions
  • • Translate client needs and business problems into clear, actionable requirements and functional designs
  • • Collaborate daily with engineers and QA to ensure technical feasibility and high-quality delivery
  • • Facilitate workshops and requirement sessions with internal and external stakeholders
  • • Document specifications, process flows, and design decisions clearly and consistently
  • • Balance trade-offs, define MVPs, and make prioritisation decisions grounded in user and business value
  • • Investigate production issues and collaborate with support teams to resolve them
  • • Contribute to roadmap discussions, product documentation, and team knowledge-sharing

What You Bring

  • • 5+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Ownership, or Business Analysis in a software setting
  • • Experience working as a Product Owner within agile development teams
  • • A solid grasp of technical concepts such as APIs, integrations, data structures (e.g. JSON), and system architecture
  • • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with engineers, designers, clients, and commercial teams
  • • Strong organisation, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • • Proven ability to deliver product features that solve complex problems and delight users
  • • A collaborative mindset and strong problem-solving skills
  • • A degree in a relevant technical, life sciences, or analytical discipline preferred

💡 Nice to Have

  • • Experience in life sciences, pharmacovigilance, or other regulated industries
  • • Prior experience in SaaS, and scale-up environments
  • • Exposure to configurable platforms, form builders, or document ingestion technologies
  • • Experience delivering enterprise-grade software in multi-stakeholder environments

🌱 What We Offer

  • • The chance to shape industry-leading technology used by global life sciences organisations
  • • A fast-paced, supportive environment where your contributions truly matter
  • • Flexible working arrangements (location and hours)
  • • Competitive salary and benefits
  • • Clear career growth as we scale across geographies and verticals

Biotechnology is one of the most transformative sectors of the 21st century. It sits at the intersection of biology, technology, and engineering, and is already reshaping healthcare, agriculture, and industry. In the UK, biotechnology contributes billions to the economy, with innovation clusters in Cambridge, Oxford, London, and Manchester producing world-leading breakthroughs in genomics, cell therapies, and synthetic biology. But what we see today is just the beginning. Advances in gene editing, biomanufacturing, AI-driven drug discovery, and personalised medicine are accelerating so quickly that many of the most important biotechnology careers of the future don’t even exist yet. Just as jobs like “social media manager” or “cloud architect” would have been unimaginable twenty years ago, biotechnology is creating new professions at a speed that outpaces current education and training frameworks. This article explores the future of biotechnology jobs, the types of careers that don’t yet exist, why they are emerging, and how the UK workforce can prepare.
