Polytec are looking for an experienced Senior Sales Manager to join our Cambridge based client, an innovative biotech company that has developed a cutting-edge benchtop solution for protein quantification. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading commercial expansion across Europe. When not travelling the role will be fully office based.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the European commercial sales strategy for the company's scientific instrumentation
  • Drive revenue growth through new customer acquisition and expanding existing accounts
  • Build strong relationships with decision-makers in biotech, CDMOs, and academic institutions
  • Represent the business at conferences, exhibitions, and on-site meetings
  • Deliver compelling product presentations tailored to customer needs
  • Analyse sales data and market trends to inform strategy and improve performance
  • Use CRM tools (HubSpot preferred) to manage leads and track progress
  • Collaborate closely with RandD and Marketing to ensure customer-focused sales efforts

    Requirements
  • Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related Life Sciences field
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in technical sales, including 3+ years in a senior role
  • Strong background in selling scientific instrumentation or lab automation to the bioprocessing or pharmaceutical sector
  • Demonstrated ability to exceed sales targets and grow market share
  • Excellent communicator with strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
  • Familiar with CRM systems and comfortable working in a fast-paced, scale-up environment
  • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 60%) across the UK and Europe
