Upperton Pharma Solutions is a Nottingham-based CDMO that specialises in the development and manufacture of pharmaceutical products, providing a complete service from early-stage feasibility to GMP clinical manufacture. Formulations cover a range of delivery routes, typically including oral (tablets & capsules), nasal and inhaled.

Upperton Pharma Solutions is undergoing a period of significant expansion to meet international customer demand and offer a comprehensive drug development portfolio, so now is a great time to join our team.

Responsible for setting up & tracking project milestones from project kick-off through to project completion & are the principal non-technical client contact for their projects, and those of their direct reports.

Maintain a complete understanding of the project critical deliverables, including key project milestones, costs, invoicing & ensure all project stakeholders are fully informed of project status.

Deputise for the Associate Director, Project Management as required, and during periods of absence.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Proactively manage, plan & coordinate multiple projects from project kick off through to project completion to ensure delivered to agreed quality standards, met client specifications/expectations within the agreed timeline & budget
  • To act as the main point of contact for clients during the project lifecycle & communicate client interaction to Business Development & multi-disciplinary Technical Teams as required
  • Lead internal & customer facing project meetings – taking notes & actions to support the project progress
  • Work closely with the technical teams to accurately scope out change orders for any changes to projects
  • Ensure the project team are informed of any project or operational issues or risks & escalate to the Associate Director, Project Management or relevant project ambassador
  • Line management/support for project manager(s) and/or project co-ordinator(s)

Essential skills and experience:

  • Relevant degree/professional/business qualified project manager and/or with a recognised project management qualification
  • Experience working within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience managing stakeholders across multiple business functions
  • Interpersonal skills to influence and spur change, facilitate and enhance performance within a cross-functional environment
  • Ability to anticipate issues before they occur and take proactive preventive measures
  • A team worker with a collaborative approach
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior management
  • Experience in managing people
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and to meet deadlines
