Senior Project Engineer

Location: Loughborough (Fully On Site)

Salary: Circa £55,000

Are you ready to lead major engineering projects that make a real-world impact? A leading Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO) is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to deliver high-value, technically complex capital projects in a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge products in a GMP-compliant facility, with occasional travel to other UK or international sites as needed.

What you'll be doing:

Lead the full lifecycle of capital engineering projects - from scoping through commissioning and handover
Manage validation and commissioning activities (e.g. FAT/SAT, URS, IQ/OQ)
Build and coordinate cross-functional project teams
Ensure full compliance with health, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
Oversee project budgets, schedules, vendor selection, and procurement strategies
Engage stakeholders and support junior engineers across multiple sites

What we're looking for:

5+ years of experience in engineering project delivery, including 3+ in a regulated industry (pharma, food, FMCG)
Degree-qualified in Engineering; Chartered (CEng) or working towards it preferred
Proven ability to lead capital projects within a manufacturing setting
Strong understanding of engineering design, construction, procurement, and compliance standards
Proficiency in project management tools (e.g. MS Project) and budget control
Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
