A leading global pharmaceutical organisation is seeking aSenior Procurement Manager – Directsto join their high-performing team. This is a unique opportunity to take the lead on business-critical sourcing initiatives, working across multiple direct categories to deliver strategic and commercial value to the business.


As a key member of the Procurement function, you’ll play a critical role in developing and executing innovative sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and contributing to global cost-saving initiatives.


This hybrid role will require regular presence at both a key manufacturing site, the head office & remote working.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sourcing & Spend Management:
  • Collaborate with the wider procurement team to develop & implement commodity strategies, integrating regional insights and driving consolidation efforts across spend categories.
  • Innovation & Process Optimisation:
  • Lead sourcing projects aimed at automation, supplier optimisation, and increased use of MSAs and FSAs to streamline procurement processes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Partner with business leaders across functions to align sourcing priorities with business goals, ensuring procurement acts as a strategic enabler.
  • Supplier & Risk Management:
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers, identifying risk areas and delivering innovation through proactive supplier engagement and performance reviews.


Ideal Candidate:

  • Significant experience in a strategic procurement role, ideally within a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in sourcing direct materials and/or services
  • Experienced working with Capex, Engineering & MRO
  • Strong commercial acumen, negotiation expertise, and an advanced understanding of supplier and contract management.
  • Industry experience within Manufacturing, Life Sciences, Engineering, or related field; MCIPS qualification (or working towards) preferred.
  • Able to influence and partner with senior stakeholders, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
