Position: Senior Planning Engineer

Location: Hampton or Rickmansworth with an element of hybrid working

Salary: £65-70k (Neg DOE), car/allowance and excellent benefits package

Our Client: Is an integrated design and build solution provider operating in the water sector. They have over 1,000 staff working across eight regional centres, primarily supporting six long term water sector frameworks operating both on their own and increasingly in joint ventures and alliances.

The Role: Our client is looking to strengthen their Planning team with a Senior Planner. Based in the Thames Water region, you will report directly to the Planning Manager.

The programme of work, across a variety of water and wastewater schemes is expected to be in the region of £400M with work secured for the next 5 years.

An excellent team working ethos is essential to fulfil the job role. Travel will be necessary with the Thames Water region to fulfil the operational support requirement of the business.

You'll take ownership of several project plans, drive the project team to deliver to the plan and challenge any delay and deviation. Leading, coaching and guiding more junior planners, you'll be viewed as an approachable planning expert who is keen to pass on experience and knowledge to develop others and drive outperformance amongst the team.

Responsibilities: Collaboratively develop and maintain robust detailed project plans for the full project lifecycle.

Ensure project plans capture the full project scope and resources are considered and loaded as required.

Pro-actively identify opportunities and risks in the plan and monitor the critical path and key milestones, advising the delivery team on any potential changes.

Review and challenge supply chain programmes and ensure these are monitored and incorporated with the main project plan.

Ensure planning standards are maintained and that planning procedures are adhered to.

Implementation of all required project and activity codes

Baseline management

Production of programme narrative for submission to client

Schedule quality and integrity checks completed periodically.

Experience: Significant experience of working on relevant construction or infrastructure projects, ideally within the Water Industry.

Primavera P6 experience

Leading collaborative planning processes with the ability to

Interrogate drawings to implement efficient planning services to the business.

Developing detailed claims programmes and implementing any contractual changes to the programme.

Strong ability to communicate complex information to a wide range of audiences.

Able to work in pressurised situations to tight deadlines will be crucial.

Adapt as required to meet project objectives.

Innovative and supportive to other member of the teams to enhance the reputation of the planning team amongst the business.
