Working Pattern:
Permanent / Full Time
The Senior Pipe Stress Engineer is responsible for performing piping flexibility analysis, reviewing and finalising pipe and support design/layout, code calculations, and originating and checking piping stress deliverables.
Implementation of QA/QC procedures as required by Company and Client standards
Responsible for performing Piping Stress Analysis (static and dynamic) for A/G and U/G lines and finalising the stress documentation
Finalising stress analysis design basis, critical line list, work procedure, data sheets, support specification/standards
Review and checking of third-party analysis
Responsible for planning and scheduling of Stress Deliverables
Qualification of Standard Piping support details including design calculation and verification of loads
Finalising Material Requisition, Datasheets and TBE for brought out items (specialty supports, spring hangers, etc.)
Review and approval of Vendor drawings and documents
Review/approval of construction-related deliverables submitted by Contractor
Co-ordination with Piping Engineers and Designers
Co-ordination with other disciplines/departments as required for interfaces
Co-ordination with Piping counterparts in Client/Contractor organisations
Site visits and data collection from Client's offices/plants
Attend meetings with Clients/Contractors/Vendors
Identification of scope of work required to undertake a project/job and estimation of deliverables
Input to project plans and schedules

Location: Aberdeen or Glasgow – hybrid working 3 days in the office with flexibility to work from home for 2 days.
About You
You’ll have experience of:
Performing Layout studies (Brownfield and Greenfield), Supports selection, Pipe stress analysis specification, technical reviews for Piping Springs, specialty/dynamic supports (Snubbers, etc.) in an EPC environment or client role is highly preferred.
Conceptual Study/FEED design, Detailed Design, Knowledge and Understanding of construction, Plant commissioning, operations and plant maintenance would be preferable.
In-depth Knowledge and understanding of Pipe static and dynamic stress analysis basis. Experience in Analysis of Various operating, Occasional, accidental and transient conditions.
CAESAR II for static and dynamic (Modal, Time history and spectrum analysis).
Finite element analysis and proficient in using FEA tools such as Nozzle pro, FEPipe or similar.
Design codes such as ASME B31.3, BSI PD8010, ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8, ASME Section VIII Div.1 & 2 and WRC for stress analysis of piping and pipeline is essential for the role.
Having offshore BOSIET, MIST and medical are preferred for the role with experience of site surveys for condition assessments, commissioning assistance or dimensional and utility interface reviews, be able to write survey scope of work and Survey reports.
Producing and checking pipe stress deliverables (Piping Stress reports/technical notes and calcs). Checking of piping fabrication isometrics and Supports GA.
Piping layout of mechanical packages and equipment static as well as dynamic perspective. Familiar with Design standards such as API610, API 617 and NEMA for piping and supporting layout requirements.
Preparation of Project/Piping scope of work/estimates, developing and maintaining project execution plan.
