A little more about your role…
You will provide expertise in mechanical building services engineering; with particular emphasis on the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, and process related industries.
You will apply technical expertise to investigations, feasibility studies, concept and scheme designs, detailed design and construction support phase of projects.
In this role your responsibilities will include:
Establishing client requirements and delivering engineering design solutions
Delivering Mechanical Building Services design solutions to meet project needs
Operating as Lead Building Services Engineer, controlling technical delivery, costs, changes and programme at all stages of projects
Design, engineering, calculations
Supervising the work of designers and engineers
Co-ordination with all other disciplines
Preparation and maintenance of man-hour and resources forecasts and estimates
Preparation of/input to design programmes
Providing support to site construction operations
Contributing to the body of expertise within the building services department, particularly in the areas of cleanrooms, clean utilities, and sustainability / low carbon solutions
Reviewing designs & proposals for conformance with applicable regulatory standards, policies, and codes of practice
You will be working closely with our consultants and project delivery teams across the UK and internationally to help WSP work on some of the most challenging and high-profile Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences advanced manufacturing projects.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…
Inter-personal skills, with excellent leadership skills capable of communicating effectively with senior client stakeholders, internal managers and project teams.
An Engineering degree (BEng/MEng), preferably in building services engineering and you are a Chartered Engineer.
Significant Experience in designing HVAC for critical environments, in particular GMP pharmaceutical & biopharm clean rooms and utilities, cold storage facilities, etc.
Significant Experience in designing HVAC for ACDP/SAPO containment facilities, good working knowledge of regulatory standards in these environments.
A proven and demonstrable background of delivering relevant strategic studies/projects to a high standard.
Enthusiasm and efficiency in managing design teams in the delivery of projects.
The ability to work on your own initiative on technical matters, providing support to our clients and strategic direction to others within the team.
Good attention to detail.
Has a desire to find both the appropriate technical solution, and value for money for our customers.
