Senior Estimator – Building Envelope (Working on major projects across the UK and Europe)
Salary: £80,000 – £100,000+ (Negotiable)
Location: Fully remote (one trip to head office every few weeks and occasional visits to sites as required) (All expenses paid for)
We’re working with a leading and highly-regarded specialist building envelope contractor delivering complex, high-value full envelope packages across data centre, pharmaceutical, biotech, and industrial projects. They are seeking a Senior Estimator with strong experience in roofing, cladding, façades, and curtain walling to join their commercial team.
This is a fully remote role, with occasional travel as required. It’s a great opportunity to join a company known for its expertise in delivering full envelope solutions on major projects across the UK and Europe. The company have been trading for over 25 years and turn over approximately 100 million.
This role has strong progression potential. The successful candidate will not only lead on tendering but also have the opportunity to take on management responsibilities and help shape a high-performing estimating function.
Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and bid packages for roofing & cladding packages.
  • Review project documentation and determine full scope of works, materials, labour, and resources required.
  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations, ensuring alignment with spec and budget.
  • Lead and manage the estimating function, including oversight of junior estimators.
  • Conduct value engineering and cost/risk analysis to support commercial decision-making.
  • Present final estimates to senior leadership and contribute to project handovers.
  • Support project teams post-award by providing clarification and tracking deviations from original estimates.
  • Stay up to date with market conditions, materials, and innovations in envelope construction.
    Requirements:
  • Solid experience estimating in the roofing, cladding, or full building envelope sector.
  • Able to work independently on tenders from first principles through to submission.
  • Comfortable working on large-scale commercial or industrial projects, ideally including data centres or similarly complex builds.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills and ability to mentor or manage junior staff.
  • Strong commercial acumen with an eye for cost control and value engineering.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Flexible to travel on occasion to head office or site meetings (UK or Europe).
