Using a broad range of tools and technologies, you will be working at the heart of our multi-disciplined design team developing our latest ranges of products. You will be expected to work autonomously as well as fit into a project team, use your excellent communication skills and have a manner that enables you to collaborate and solve problems.
Your electronic design skills will be well developed enabling you to start complex designs from the outset. Knowledge of designing for harsh environments is essential, and your background should include developing initial concept ideas through to high volume manufacturing. You will be encouraged and have the freedom to improve processes and systems and look to the future for new technologies.
This job is for you if you have an excellent eye for detail, can multitask on more than one design at a time, like working in a dynamic fast-moving environment and get satisfaction seeing the completed product in the shops or on boats in and around the water.
Your job:-
You will be responsible for the complete electronic design of our products from initial concept through to high volume manufacture and will be expected to make complex design decisions along the way.
This will encompass: -
Identifying suitable technologies and solutions to meet the project requirements.
Creating schematic diagrams and overseeing PCB layout.
Ensuring product quality using best practice techniques e.g. simulation, FMEA etc..
Preparation of validation test plans as well as undertaking hands-on test and debug of your new design.
Managing timescales and cost in line with the project plan.
Working closely with the Project Manager, mechanical, PCB and compliance teams to get your design into volume production.
To be ready to take on this role we would love if you have:-
BSc/BEng in Electronic Design Engineering with experience working in a design environment.
Working knowledge of electronic design including: Digital electronics (Microprocessor design, FPGAs, memory topologies etc.).
Analogue electronics (Operational amplifiers, ADC/DAC, discrete design).
Power supplies.
RF design techniques. (advantageous but not essential).

Use of schematic capture and circuit simulation tools.
PCB layout and best practices.
Understanding of EMC and appropriate design techniques.
Experience in consumer electronics and high-volume manufacturing advantageous.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Willing to work with the team in the office 4 days a week.
Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
