Weare inviting applications to fill our Senior Endourology Fellow vacancy at TheLeeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in Department of Urology which is full-timefixed-term for 12 months.

Candidatesmust be fully registered with the General Medical Council and must hold MRCS atthe time of application. Candidates should preferably hold the FRCS(Urol) orequivalent. The successful candidate will be able pursue sub-specialty post-CCTlevel training in Endourology

Main duties of the job

Supportgeneral and specialist outpatient clinics, theatre sessions, and day-casesurgery in line with gained competencies.

Tofollow patients throughout their clinical pathways.

Thepost holder may be expected to change clinical sessions as service demandrequires.

Todeliver clinical and quality targets agreed both nationally and locally withclinical teams and commissioners.

Contributeto weekly departmental and specialist multidisciplinary meetings, x-raymeetings and monthly audit meetings.

Participatein any on-going clinical trials to facilitate the collection and analysis ofclinical data.

Participate in the teaching of medical students andclinical supervision of juniors.

Job responsibilities

Thesuccessful candidate will assist the urology department in the delivery ofelective and non-elective urology including outpatient clinics, diagnostics andsurgical procedures in line with gained competencies.

Supportgeneral and specialist outpatient clinics, theatre sessions, and day-casesurgery.

Contributeto weekly departmental and specialist multidisciplinary meetings, x-raymeetings and monthly audit meetings.

Participatein any on-going clinical trials to facilitate the collection and analysis ofclinical data.

Participatein the teaching of medical students and clinical supervision of juniors.

Collaborate in clinical research and submit an articlefor presentation where possible.

Eligibility, Fitness to practice, and Language Skills

  • Eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment.
  • Evidence of achievement of Foundation competencies by time of appointment in line with GMC standards in Good Medical Practice.
  • Evidence of achievement of ST1/CT1 competences in a relevant specialty at time of application and likelihood of achieving ST2/CT2 competences in a relevant specialty by the start date of the post.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Applicants knowledge is up to date and fit to practise safely.
  • All applicants to have demonstrable skills in written and spoken English that are adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues.

Qualifications

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification

Clinical Experience and Career Progression

  • Acute care safe: up-to-date ALS. Hospital at night team working / experience. Out of hours experience relevant to the job.
  • Relevant specialty clinical knowledge: capacity to apply sound clinical knowledge relevant to the job, specialty knowledge exam.
  • Clinical judgement: experience in making clinical decisions and managing risk. Knows when to seek help, able to prioritise clinical need.
  • Practical skills: shows aptitude for practical skills, required in the job.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in different clinical settings required in the job.
  • Learning and personal development: demonstrates interest in the specialty required for the job.Demonstrates a commitment to maintaining professional skills and knowledge relevant to the job (see notes
