Job title: Senior Analytical Scientist – SynergyLocation: Sandwich, UKContract: Permanent Salary: Competitive SRGare looking for a Senior Analytical Scientist to join a GlobalPharmaceutical company based in Sandwich, Kent.Laboratory basedanalytical scientist to carry out analytical testing in support ofproduct development, clinical studies and product registration.KeyResponsibilities will include:Carry out all analytical activitiesrequired to deliver new respiratory products to clinical studiesand commercializationLead the planning and execution of experimentsto generate scientific understanding in development of analyticalmethods, formulations and processes.Perform analyses related toclinical supplies, stability, and process scale up.Process andreview data, interpret results and report experimental outcomes toproject development team.Lead the troubleshooting ofinstrumentation and investigation of aberrant sampleresults.Maintain laboratory documentation in accordance with cGMPdocumentation practices. Contribute to project delivery by carryingout other tasks (e.g. ordering, shipping samples) as required.Workwith other senior analysts to identify opportunities forimprovements in working practices and procedures.Oversee theday-to-day work of less experienced analytical laboratorystaff.Adherence to all applicable policies and procedures,including those relating to EHS, GMP, GCP, Quality and Compliance,consistent with the role and any associated responsibilities,including people management where applicable.Perform other dutiesas assigned consistent with the grade of the roleCandidateRequirements:Minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree (for exampleChemistry, Analytical Chemistry,Pharmaceutical Sciences, Forensics)or equivalent, or substantial practical work experience.Goodunderstanding of laboratory safety and best practice.Has a goodunderstanding of basic principles of physical, organic andanalytical chemistry, and can demonstrate advanced knowledge inspecific areas related to their experience.Highly familiar withcalculations used in analytical chemistry and the application ofstatistics.Has a good understanding and substantial practicalexperience of modern laboratory techniques, including HPLC.Able towork with others to plan the day-to-day work of a small team.Ableto work autonomously to deliver multiple tasks, planning own workto consistently achieve output of high-quality results in a timelymanner.Able to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinaryteam environment.Able to lead troubleshooting andinvestigations.Good IT skills (including Microsoft Excel, Word,PowerPoint).Effective verbal and written communicationskillsEnthusiasm to work in a laboratory-based role.
