Sales Executive - Chemistry

Runcorn (Office based)

Temporary to Permanent

A fantastic opportunity has arisen within our clients’ growing sales team for a motivated Sales Executive. The role will play a vital role in managing key customer accounts working with chemistry, procurement, and finance teams within research institutions and chemical industries.

This dynamic role involves providing exceptional technical support and customer service to help customers meet their chemistry needs and drive their R&D and process development projects forward.

You will build and nurture long-term business relationships, contributing to the company's commercial success.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Handle technical inquiries via phone and email (for services in Contract Development, Custom Synthesis, Analytical Chemistry and other R&D activities)
  • Manage current customers and expand the customer base
  • Present technical solutions tailored to client needs, drawing on your background in chemistry
  • Collaborate with a busy sales team and liaise with clients and suppliers
  • Maintain customer communication regarding delivery schedules and be their point of contact
  • Support business development efforts across the UK and Europe, with progression to European and global opportunities.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Minimum BSc in Chemistry or related field
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Experience in a sales/client-focused role
  • Self-motivated and dynamic, with a strong work ethic
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Positive, flexible attitude with the ability to adapt and work under pressure.

The role will initially be offered on a 6-month fixed-term contract and then become permanent after probation. You will qualify for the bonus scheme, which becomes active in year 2 of the role. The company also offers free onsite car parking. It is essential that you drive and have transport due to the location being difficult for public transport and the occasional need to visit a client.
